The W Flag

The Cubs 'W' flag is one the most important pieces to ending the curse and the 100-year World Series drought. After each game, the scoreboard operators fly a white flag with a 'W' if the team wins.


Hanging the flag has been tradition since 1917 at Wrigley Field. Originally, the flag was flown to show commuters the outcome of the day's game. Today, fans will see numerous references to the W, including banners, car flags, t-shirts, and much more.
